Where You’ll Stay
Trauma, Mental Health, and Addiction Treatment
Whether or not we realize it, trauma plays a part in many of our lives and in the choices we make. Left untreated, it can contribute to countless problems: mental health disorders, dysfunctional relationships, substance abuse, and even physical pain. It is an invisible and devastating force.
At Sequoia Behavioral Health, you’ll experience integrated therapy that addresses your mental health symptoms and their root causes. Every member of our staff is trained in treating trauma and stress related disorders, and we place a special emphasis on understanding and resolving trauma in our day-to-day programming.
Individual Therapy
Individual therapy is private treatment with licensed therapists and medical professionals. It includes somatic experiencing, neurofeedback, and individual psychoeducation.
Group Therapy
In group therapy, individuals can learn, grow together, and experience meaningful support through psychoeducation, recreational therapy, and community development.
Trauma Therapy
Trauma therapy recognizes that trauma is an underlying part of many other conditions. This philosophy helps us provide compassionate and effective treatment.
Somatic Experiencing
Somatic experiencing is a holistic, body-focused treatment modality that helps resolve both physical and psychological trauma symptoms.
Neurofeedback
Neurofeedback provides insight on how the brain responds to distressing stimuli, helping change the way a person responds to their emotional triggers.
Recreational Therapy
Recreational therapy uses games, movement, art, time in nature, and other positive activities to relieve mental suffering and aid the recovery process.
Psychoeducation
Psychoeducation helps clients learn more about themselves and discover practical ways to overcome mental and behavioral health problems.
CBT
CBT, or cognitive behavioral therapy, helps clients learn to self-identify negative thinking patterns and replace them with healthy behaviors.
DBT
Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is especially effective for those who struggle to manage and regulate emotions.
Motivational Interviewing
Motivational interviewing, or MI, helps people resolve ambivalent feelings and insecurities by empowering them to find motivation and capacity for change.
Forward-Facing Therapy
Learn to use simple self-regulation skills to restore a sense of safety by interrupting your body's threat response.
Internal Family Systems
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of psychotherapy that conceptualizes the mind of an individual as one family made up of various parts.
Family Therapy
Family therapy is a type of psychotherapy used to address the health and functioning of the family as a whole, within the context of individual therapy for one member of the family.
Grief Therapy
Through a supportive and compassionate approach, grief therapy provides guidance and tools for grief management.
Attachment Style Therapy
Attachment style therapy helps people heal from past experiences and develop secure attachments in all of their relationships.
PGx Testing
Pharmacogenetic testing removes much of the trial and error of prescribing behavioral and mental health medications by analyzing your DNA.
Emotional Freedom Techniques
Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), or tapping therapy, is a self-help tool that uses acupressure and psychological techniques to manage emotional and physical distress.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
ACT is an action-oriented therapy that allows clients to move past negative emotions and thoughts, rather than fighting them.
Sound Baths
Sound baths treat a variety of mental health concerns by connecting the mind and body. Specific sounds help slow breathing and heart rate to induce calmness.
Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs
Understanding how our basic needs are connected to our ability to pursue mental health is an important step toward self-actualization.
Narrative Therapy
Narrative therapy helps individuals rewrite the negative stories they tell themselves, empower them to take control of their lives, and find new meaning and purpose.
Medication Management & MAT
In a controlled and safe environment, medication-assisted treatment (MAT) can help some clients participate more fully in their therapy program.
Integrative Therapy
Integrative and eclectic therapy involves using different techniques from multiple therapy disciplines to create the most effective, personalized treatment.
Multicultural Therapy
Multicultural therapy can apply to any psychotherapy. It's a personalized treatment plan based on a person's culture, race, religion, etc.
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy
Solution-focused brief therapy is a short-term therapy method that focuses on a client's mental or behavioral health goals rather than their past.
Existential Phenomenological Psychotherapy
EPP is a type of therapy that can be used to supplement other methods. It's used to help people take action to develop meaning for their existence.
Holistic Dietary Services
A menu developed specifically for individuals in recovery from mental health disorders by a holistic dietician.
Solution-Focused Therapy
Instead of analyzing a current problem, this therapy focuses on the strengths and resources a person has and helps identify solutions.
