Specialized PTSD & Trauma Recovery for Veterans in Arizona
Personalized residential and intensive outpatient trauma treatment for veterans in Mesa, Arizona
Trauma-Informed Mental Health Treatment
Military service often requires carrying responsibilities and experiences that most civilians never encounter. Whether you've experienced combat, military sexual trauma (MST), repeated exposure to loss, or years of chronic operational stress, those experiences can continue affecting daily life long after your service has ended.
PTSD, anxiety, depression, and moral injury are more common than many people realize. And with the right help, they are treatable. At Sequoia Behavioral Health, our clinicians provide compassionate, evidence-based trauma treatment designed to help veterans process difficult experiences, reduce symptoms, and reconnect with the people and values that matter most.
Healing doesn't mean forgetting what happened. It means learning to move forward without trauma continuing to control your life.
Evidence Based Trauma Therapy for Veterans
Every veteran's story is different, which is why treatment should never follow a one-size-fits-all approach. At Sequoia Behavioral Health, our clinicians use trauma-informed, evidence-based therapies to help veterans process traumatic experiences, strengthen resilience, and improve emotional well-being while creating a treatment plan tailored to each individual's goals.

Mental Health Treatment Programs for Veterans
At Sequoia Behavioral Health, we provide multiple levels of mental health care so every veteran can receive the right amount of support without taking on more treatment than they need.
Our Residential Treatment Program (RTC) offers 24-hour care in a peaceful, home-like setting where veterans can step away from daily stressors and fully focus on recovery. Treatment includes individualized therapy, trauma-focused group therapy, psychiatric care, nursing support, and personalized treatment planning designed around your experiences and goals.
For veterans who are ready to remain at home while receiving intensive treatment, our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) provide structured, evidence-based care while allowing you to maintain connections with your family, community, and other responsibilities whenever clinically appropriate. Every veteran's experiences are different. Whether you're coping with combat-related trauma, Military Sexual Trauma (MST), moral injury, anxiety, depression, chronic stress, or challenges transitioning to civilian life, our clinical team will recommend the level of care that best supports your recovery.
Our goal isn't simply to reduce symptoms, it's to help you regain confidence, reconnect with the people who matter most, and build a meaningful life beyond trauma.

Insurance and Payment Options for Veterans
Insurance We Accept
Seeking mental health treatment is a significant step, and understanding insurance coverage shouldn't add unnecessary stress. Our admissions team is here to make the process as simple and transparent as possible by helping you understand your benefits, estimate costs, and explore every available payment option before treatment begins.
We accept many major commercial insurance plans, including:
- Aetna
- Blue Cross Blue Shield
- GEHA
- Meritain Health
- Cigna
- Gilsbar
- Beacon Health Options
- UnitedHealthcare / UMR
If you don't see your insurance listed, our admissions team can quickly verify your benefits and discuss available options.
Information for Veterans Using VA or TRICARE Benefits
Many veterans receive healthcare through the VA or TRICARE, and we understand that navigating those systems can sometimes delay access to specialized mental health treatment.
Although Sequoia Behavioral Health is not currently contracted with TRICARE, this is due to TRICARE's current limitation on contracting with new behavioral health programs; not because we have chosen not to participate. We have actively pursued contracting and continue to monitor opportunities as they become available. In the meantime, our admissions specialists are experienced in helping veterans explore alternative ways to access treatment.
Depending on your individual circumstances, options may include:
- Using commercial insurance through an employer or spouse
- Accessing out-of-network benefits when available
- Private pay options with transparent pricing, including a 10% reduction in private pay rates for all veterans.
- Guidance regarding potential reimbursement opportunities when applicable
Every situation is unique, and we'll take the time to discuss the options that best fit your needs.
Our Commitment
Our priority is helping veterans access quality mental health care as quickly as possible. If you're unsure what your insurance covers or what options are available, contact our admissions team for a confidential conversation. We'll answer your questions honestly and help you determine the best path forward.
