Virtual Intensive Outpatient Treatment

Our virtual intensive outpatient program allows our clients to heal, even if they can’t make it to our outpatient treatment facility. In virtual IOP treatment, you’ll receive individual and small-group therapy from the comfort of your home.

Who are you reaching out for?

What is Virtual Intensive Outpatient Treatment?

This program offers the same structured, clinically rigorous care as our in-person IOP, including:

  • Licensed group facilitation
  • Weekly individual therapy
  • Ongoing psychiatric support and medication management
  • Trauma-informed, skills-based treatment

While many virtual programs focus solely on therapy, we’ve intentionally built this program to include psychiatric involvement throughout treatment, allowing for real-time medication adjustments and more comprehensive clinical support.

Our Virtual IOP

We created virtual IOP for those who need a higher level of care but aren’t able to attend in person or traditional daytime programming.

  • Are unable to commute
  • Need to work or parent during the day
  • Need more flexibility
  • Feel more comfortable engaging in treatment from home

Virtual IOP clients will attend online sessions either three days (IOP 3) or five days (IOP 5) per week. You’ll participate in evening group therapy sessions, and individual sessions at least once a week during the day.

Psychiatric Care for Virtual Clients

Our virtual IOP includes access to a licensed psychiatric provider for evaluation, medication management, and ongoing support throughout treatment. After admission, clients complete a psychiatric evaluation and continue with regular follow-up appointments as needed.

Even though care is delivered virtually, our team remains committed to providing personalized, high-quality, and trauma-informed mental health treatment every step of the way.

Continuing Care

Based on your needs, our counseling team will create a personalized therapy program to ensure your treatment is successful, even after you leave our care. The goal of virtual IOP is to help you find treatment that fits into your life, while still receiving individualized, holistic, and comprehensive care.

For most inpatient clients, IOP is the next step in their wellness journey. After a stay at our residential facility, some clients will move on to partial hospitalization treatment, while others will immediately begin an IOP or virtual IOP.

Community Support Groups

Our outpatient treatment center hosts not just group therapy for our clients, but support groups that the Mesa community is welcome to join. Our outpatient clients and graduates can come together in a safe space to talk through their struggles, be encouraged by their peers, and grow with community support. Learn more about support groups at Sequoia Behavioral Health.

Free Yoga for Outpatient Clients

As a part of our holistic treatment philosophy, we partnered with Spiritually Fit Yoga Co-op in Scottsdale to offer a free 90-day membership for unlimited classes. Outpatient clients and program graduates can continue their wellness journey outside of Sequoia’s walls.
